Team Hoffman

Melissa and I (
Adam), have been "Team Hoffman" since 2005 - living our lives in partnership for ministry, discipleship, mobilization, family, and teaching. The Perspectives Study Program has been an integral part of our discipleship process and ministry since 2004.

While in college, Melissa had the Perspectives Reader as a mission minor textbook at PBA, it wasn’t until moving to Raleigh in 2004 that she learned about the Perspectives Study Program – as she started an internship with the U.S. Center for World Mission (now known as Frontier Ventures). One of her first big projects was co-coordinating Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course – the 15-week course of the Perspectives Study Program.  At the time, we were engaged, and though I was telling God “no” to missions, Melissa’s fiancée powers won out and we took that first class together in Spring 2005.  It was the best premarital counseling we received and forged the future of our lives into mobilization ministry. It was also a rich discipleship process for me that aligned my heart with God’s heart for the Nations. It was during this semester that we established our family mission statement, “to open people’s eyes to what God is doing in the world and to help them be strategically involved in reaching the unreached.

That year moved fast as we completed the Perspectives course in May, married in August, and then applied (Sept), interviewed (Oct) and were accepted (Nov) as full-time staff with the U.S. Center for World Mission. From 2005-2008, we were still in the Raleigh-Durham area while raising support and coordinating Perspectives on the World Christian Movement.

In March 2008, we drove cross-country to Pasadena, CA to be with the majority of U.S. Center for World Mission staff and were assigned to the INSIGHT program – a college mobilization/education program of the U.S. Center for World Mission. From 2008-2014, we were in leadership of the flagship Pasadena campus of INSIGHT, as well as the National Office for INSIGHT.

In 2014, our family moved back to Raleigh, NC as our Frontier Ventures assignment transitioned to the Perspectives Study Program as the Southeast Regional Directors. During that time, we trained with the outgoing Director, while I completed my MBA.  In April 2015, Melissa and I assumed leadership of the Southeast and set a vision to see 50 classes in the Southeast by 2020 (SE States include FL, AL, GA, SC & NC).

At Frontier Ventures, we work together to see “Movements to Jesus expressing the fullness of the Kingdom of God within every people.”  The Perspectives Study Program pursues this vision through a mobilization movements within local communities that calls forth the Body of Christ to engage in ways that lead to all peoples having access to the gospel.

Melissa and I operate as a team with Perspectives Study Program, homeschooling and church and mission ministries.
