Chong & Grace Kim

Staff ID: 159

General Director

Chong has been on staff with Frontier Ventures (formerly USCWM) since 1988. He founded the Korean American Center for World Mission in 1989 and served as its director from 1991 to 2003. He also co-founded and is currently co-directing a sending structure focused on equipping and sending
bi-culturals to work among the least-likely-to-be-reached peoples in Asia. He has been serving as General Director in the Office of the General Director for Frontier Ventures since 2012. Chong is passionate about bringing the dual foci of "renewal" and "expansion" into the realm of Frontier Ventures life and ministry as a Protestant Religious Order.

Chong enjoys playing basketball regularly. His plan is to play until the pain outweighs the pleasure. Chong says he bleeds purple and gold, loyal to his beloved Lakers through thick and thin. Chong also loves adventure and loves to travel and explore.

Chong and Grace got married in 1990. Early on, Grace’s primary responsibility was to raise four young children: Elizabeth, Michael, Hannah, and Brad. In the last several years, Grace’s responsibilities at FV has included coaching, mentoring, and teaching. She is currently in training as a spiritual director through Center Quest School of Spiritual Direction. She loves to accompany others on their spiritual journeys through thoughtful listening and providing safety. She is hoping to utilize her training as a spiritual director, coach, and mentor as one of the growing emphases in Frontier Ventures.
As much as Chong loves basketball, Grace loves books, books, and more books. Her happy places are anywhere she can see the ocean and anywhere filled with an abundance of books. Together, they enjoy traveling, exploring museums, reading in cafes, walking, and hiking.
